Together Beyond Words
Peace Building Training
at Othona
We live in a place where there has been conflict for over 100 years
It is the longest conflict in the world today causing immense suffering to so many
The pain experienced by both sides has no place to be heard, acknowledged and transformed
So instead it is being acted out in the streets causing more pain and suffering.
The cycle of violence continues…
Pain that is not transformed is transmitted-- Richard Rohr
A Palestinian who participated in our workshop once said :
"If only even once I would have felt that someone listened to me
and acknowledged my pain about losing the home that my
father built for our family, and the years of growing up in
refugee camps, then perhaps I would have been able to let go
of my need to hold on to this story for so many years...Perhaps
I would have been able to see the pain and suffering of your
side too... But as long as no one listens and acknowledges my
pain I feel driven by this mission to share it with the world and
the more I am not being heard, the angrier I become"
The Together Beyond Words Organization, a non profit in Israel, is working to change
this situation…
We create safe havens where Arab and Jewish
women and men learn tools for transforming the
pain underlying the
prejudiced, oppressive and violent behavior
into Compassion and Empathy
Towards themselves and each other
So they can work together for Peace
Sometimes we take groups away from
the conflict to a quiet place abroad
where we are able to do our deepest
work of transformation and
reconciliation.
This year we were invited by the community of Othona who have been supporting
Reconciliation and Peace work for 70 years to hold a workshop at Othona
Here are some photos from our amazing time at Othona

Our workshop includes:1. Getting to know each other and the emotions
we are holding inside our bodies.2. Learning to listen beyond the words to the
painful story of another human being…3. Unburdening our hearts from the anger,
sadness, despair and fear that are a part of our stories.
4. Embodying the sense of connection, love and togetherness that follow the emotional release.
