THE ASSEMBLY ROOM THE ASSEMBLY ROOM
This is located to the north of the Court (Palatine) complex and it was destined to hold the general complaints once a year. This was a meeting of the most important people of the kingdom, that is to say, high placed dignitaries that occupied the seats of the power: counts and vassals of the king, bishops and abbots .The general assembly usually took place during May; the participants in the same one were discussing there the political and judicial matters of importance. The dimensions of the room were adapted to hold several hundreds of persons at once.

They were in a tower attached to the great room, to the north of the complex. The chamberlain was the person in charge of the exchequer. The exchequer brought together the donations contributed by the grandees of the kingdom in the general assemblies or the gifts of the ambassadors, that is to say, a collection of objects that included beautiful books, weapons and gowns. Equally, the king acquired goods from the merchants who came to Aachen.
