2. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENTprocess of HRD may be defined as a increasing knowledge, skills & capability of people. In present word the manpower is treated as an Asset only when such manpower is educated, skilled & well trained & capable to accept new challenges from time to time. A country can make steady growth when HR are trained & developed. Training & Development is an ongoing process in many organizations & it suggests growing importance of training & development. 3. The main Purpose of T&D is to develop the HR within the orgn. Training is a watchword of present dynamic business world. Training is must for using new machines & new techniques. Its a process of Increasing knowledge & skills of doing a particular job. Training is the responsibility of management for raising the efficiency & productivity. 4. Expenditure on T&D is an investment for manpower development & gives rich dividend to employees & orgn in the long run. It makes orgn capable to face new challenges from time to time. Training is imp to develop overall personality of an employees. 5. Definitions of Training:1. Edwin flippo: Training is the act of increasing the knowledge & skills of an employee for doing an particular job.2. Wayne Cascio: Training consists of planned programs undertaken to improve employee knowledge, skills, attitudes, & social behavior so that performance of the orgn improves 6. Development :For systematic education & Training need to be given to them which tends to raising the capacity Management Development programme is necessary. Management development programme is also called HRD programme which acts as a key factor for survival & growth of a business unit. Management Development consist of all means by which executives learn to improve their performance. Its aims as helping the managers to realize their full potential. Its a continuous process Development is long term educational process 7. Definitions:S.B.Budhiraja : Any Activity designed to improve the performance of existing managers & to provide for a planned growth of managers to meet future organizational requirements is management development. 8.
