CU

This is a close up. This sort of angle is mainly used to focus on a certain individual, for example it would normally focus on a person’s face.

CA

This part is a cutaway, it starts with focusing on the birthday cake and then cuts away to the Sarah in the hospital. This is mainly used to show more information within the film

This is a mid shot which gives more details, than a close up, of it’s main focus.

WS

A wide shot is where the main focus takes up all of the shot, you can see the whole of the scene in full, this is also known as a long shot.

Trombone

The trombone is mainly used for tense scenes or to see character reactions. In order to do this they firstly start from far away from the main focus but are zoomed in but when the camera gets closer it zooms out.

WS(Steadicam)

A wide shot is where the main focus takes up all of the shot, you can see the whole of the scene in full, however, this time a steadicam is used, this is where a camera instructor is moving whilst the camera is in a stable position whilst still being in focus with the shot.

POV(SteadiCam)

Point Of View is where the camera takes a shot from somebodies view, in this case it’s taken the point of view of the thing that is chasing after Sarah, from this it makes us aware that there is something in the dark. Again this uses steadicam, this is where a camera instructor is moving whilst the camera is in a stable position whilst still being in focus with the shot.

Rotational steadicam

This uses steadicam again, this is where a camera instructor is moving whilst the camera is in a stable position whilst still being in focus with the shot, however, this time it rotates around two main focus’.

OTSS

Again, this is a mid shot, which gives more details, than a close up, of it’s main focus.
