Udaya College of Arts & Science, a member of
Udaya Group of Institutions, was established in 2006,
by R.V Educational Trust, Rajakkamangalam,
Kanyakumari District.The objective of the college is to
impart quality education to the students of rural areas.
The college hones the student community in their
academic endeavour and extra-curricular activities.
The Placement Cell is active, opening the frontier of
job opportunities. This college is committed to pursue
excellence in all its disciplines and providing training
to develop professional responsibility, social sensitivity,
and cultural awareness. It also directs its students
through the path of truth and integrity. Our College is
surrounded by the beauty of nature, the splendid
mountain view of the Western Ghats on one side and
the freezing charm of the Arabian Sea on the other.The
college offers 19 Undergraduate degree programmes
and 10 Postgraduate degree courses.
The Department of English is one of the best
and dedicated Disciplines ceaselessly educating and
energising students with quality content. The
Department offers a comprehensive curriculum to
equip students with a sound knowledge of literature and
to strengthen their language and communication skills.
The faculty constitutes a team of 15 dedicated
members. The Muse English Literary Association
conducts various competitions to bring out the latent
talents and innate skills of the students. It also conducts
seminars and encourages the students to present papers
on various genres of literature. The Department has
good collection of books. It also has produced
University Gold Medallist in the first batch and Several
Rank Holders.
Kanyakumari District is located at the
Southern tip of Peninsular India. Udaya College of Arts
and Science is located at Udaya Nagar, Vellamodi,
AmmandivilaiPost. It is about 17 kms from Nagercoil.

Bhagavathi Amman Temple, Thiruparappu Falls,
Mathur Hanging Trough Bridge, Vellimalai Hill,
Padmanabhapuram Palace, Udayagiri Fort,
Vattakottai Fort, Chothavilai & Sanguthurai Beaches,
Colachel Port, etc. are some of the tourist
attractions.
This maiden attempt of the department
focuses on Literature in its broadest sense. The Realm
of literature is thrown open to the presenters to
choose Research in English Literature. It is especially
committed to innovative research across a broad
range of literary periods, theoretical fields, and
cultural phenomena. The seminar, World of English
Literature focuses on the various themes in the
literature.
Globalization has brought with it a wave of
opportunities for the youth to excel in their career. It
also brings with it many challenges.

TRAVANCORE (SBT) should be sent to The

& Science, Vellamodi, Ammandivilai Post,
Kanyakumari District -629 204, Tamil Nadu.
The full paper (2 hard copies and 1 soft copy)
prepared as per MLA format, not exceeding 5 - 8
pages in Times New Roman, Font size 12,
double space should be sent to us through email
and by post.
The abstract, paper and the DD should carry
full name, contact number and address of the
author.
Selected papers will be published in book
format with ISBN Number.
Accommodation shall be arranged on request at
a reasonable cost.
Awards will be given for the best papers.
