There are two papers tested in UPSR
Paper 1 is divided into 5 sections (40 multiple
questions)
Paper 2 is divided into 3 sections

Section A - VOCABULARY
Tests pupil's knowledge and understanding in vocabulary
10 multiple choice questions
Word level ( 4 questions ) - ( Questions 1 – 4 )
Phrase level ( 3 questions ) - ( Questions 5 – 7 )
Sentence level ( 3 questions ) - ( Questions 8 – 10 )
Section B – SOCIAL
EXPRESSIONS Test on social expressions used in
various situations

* QUESTIONS 11 - 15
1. There are 5 questions in this section.
2. Each question is based on a picture with a situation.
3. There are two speech bubbles, but only one with dialogue. Another one is empty.
4. The pictures show common and everyday situations.
5. Each picture shows two or more people but only two are actively engaged in verbal exchange.
* QUESTIONS 11 - 156. Understand the function of the speech bubble.
7. The upper speech bubble refers to the first speaker. The lower speech bubble refers to the second speaker.
8. Usually, the first speaker will ask a question or give a statement. The second speaker will answer the question or respond to the statement. The picture will help you to look for clues.
9. So, you are required to study each picture carefully and determine the exact situation. Then choose the appropriate response that fits the situation.

A cloze passage, which is a wholly picture dependent is given. There will be five blanks.
2. This will test your use of parts of speech ( grammar ) including visual and textual clues.
3. You must look at the picture carefully and choose the answer from the given options.

This section is based on reading and comprehension.
It comprises two passages, a linear and a non – linear passage with ten multiple choice questions.
