URKIOLA NATURAL PARK

It is a protected space, located in the south of Bizkaia and north of Araba. It has got totally 3.200 ha and it is close to the Gorbea mountain. Urkiola natural park it’s close to Amaitermin, which is a neighborhood of Abadiño.

In the Urkiola natural park, there are lots of different habitats. In this park, a lot of animals (more than 137 species) live.

FAUNA AND HABITAT

There are different types of habitats:- Rocks- Forests- Scrubs- Wetlands

Some of the animals at the park are: Miniopterus schreibersii, Felis sylvestris, Mustela lutreola and Mustela putorius.

In the park, there are lots of plants. Some of the trees are eucalyptus, oak, beech, pine and birch.

In winter and summer, the temperatures are mild, with an average annual temperature of around 11ºC
