What did you learn about from your audience
feedback ?What were you surprised
about?Arun Dey
How we gathered our feedback
After finally completing our work, we had decided to gather
some feedback to determine whether anyone liked it/disliked
it, suggested any improvements, etc.
We thought the best way to go about this was in the form of
questionnaires as they are very easy to
produce and we could gather up all the
results quickly and effectively.
Feedback on Documentary
We showcased our product in a viewing session and it was
then that we had decided to distribute the questionnaires.
Feedback was largely positive with the audience praising the
opening sequence, facts, interviews and archive footage but
criticising the quality of sound.
Feedback on Radio Trailer
Once our documentary was finished, we later gathered more
people to view our radio trailer. Here the feedback was much
more positive compared to our documentary and many have
stated that the sound quality was much better for them to
understand.
Feedback on Magazine
Finally, the magazine article was left to analyse. Most of the
questionnaires results stated that they thought that the magazine article was very effective and that it was very professional enough to be featured into the radio times.
What we expected
We did expect there to be some criticism regarding sound
quality as we had some troubles trying to work the
microphones. We also expected some questions regarding
some of the YouTubers used in our archive footage as we
had gathered various mixtures of popular people to many
unknown gems.
We had expected people to like our magazine as I believe
that it is the most professional and legitimate of all of the
three products.
What we were surprised about
Not all of the results, however, matched up to what we had
expected.
What we were generally surprised about was the fact that
despite the mediocre sound quality, much of the audience
thought that the documentary did work up to a high standard
and was enough to pass as a professional documentary.
We were also surprised about the amount of positive
feedback on our Radio Trailer as there were some slight
errors with how the sound clips flowed with each other.
Conclusion
Feedback Results
Positive
Negative
To conclude, we have discovered that the majority of the audience did enjoy our three media products. Praises had included the archive footage, use of editing and images for the magazine but with criticism on the sound levels.
