What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Photoshop• When using Photoshop although I have used it before the

versions are constantly updating and therefore I am having to adapt to the new Photoshop. Also I used tools I had never used in doing other projects such as the magnetic lasso and the magic wand. These worked really well when cutting out an image from the background. For the front cover on the majority of my text I either used glow drop shadow or upper shadows to make the writing stand out from the background. When editing the pictures I chose to make my image black and white by editing hue and saturation. I also used the opacity when choosing the colour of eyes and lips. I wanted them to stand out but look professional and therefore the opacity had to be low in doing this.

• I would chose against using this image for my media product as I thing the brightness surrounding and on the images makes it look weak. Although the image would be easy to cut out I still think the effect the lighting has had on the image makes it unprofessional.

Bad Photo

• I think this is a good photo as it is very clear image, the brightness fits well and isn’t too dark or too bright. I also think the close up shot of the face is a very effective shot for a front cover as it would stand clearly and look very professional.

Blogger

• When doing this project I had never used blogger before and therefore I had to experiment with the technology before using it. Even though I have only used blogger this year it still had new updates therefore I had to work the new version.

Cameras

• When doing my last tasks I hadn’t considered how important the camera and photography was. My pictures had been on the same setting and I didn’t realise the difference in modes and settings. When doing this task I had to look more into how this worked so my photos would be right. Even though I know this now my first set of photos were weak and the variety was minor. If I got to do this task again I would take a larger range of photos using several different models for my magazine.
