heritage. All you have to do is think of Goethe, Marx, and Kahn.

How about Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Strauss, and Wagner. The

most famous scientist, Einstein and many others are a testimony

of German huge heritage to humanity. Many important areas of

everyone´s lives are somehow affected by discoveries made by

Germans. Graduate programs in major universities require their

graduates to have at least a basic level of German knowledge.

To this you must add that 18% of world literature is written in

German and very few of these are translated. The only way to

3. The internet domain .com is, of course the largest one on the

Internet. Technically it does not belong to any country, even

though we know it is the one used by USA as own. But the

Germany domain, .de, is the second most used domain in the

Internet. So basically, Germany rules the World Wide Web with

more than 8 million domains. The closest competitor, .uk, has an

4. Germans are hard workers but they are also hard travelers.

With a high-standard way of living and average six weeks of

vacation per year, Germans are the greatest spenders of tourism

dollars. You find Germans traveling practically everywhere in

the world. They usually travel to the Northern Europe countries

and the Americas. This means that they have established their

presence in many places. Tourist agencies that know this,

require their guides to know German. So guess who is going to

have an advantage on getting the job as a tourist guide in places

where Germans tour the most.

hard-working population. But they also realize that international

cooperation is essential to maintaining their leadership. This is

the reason why Germany has a strong fund for educational

international cooperation. We are talking about more than

60,000 international educational programs. Besides this, foreign

students that enroll into German universities, just like German
