THE NEED: U.S. Veterans face significant barriers to civilian employment, and a high unemployment rate.

3.4 Million manufacturing jobs will be needed over the next decade and 2 Million jobs will go unfulfilled due to the lack of a skilled workforce.

MEETING THE NEED:WFWs work serves the dual benefit of providing Veterans with life-sustaining careers, and helping to regrow Americas manufacturing workforce.

WFW graduates are prepared for jobs by earning nationally recognized credentials and hands-on-training.

80% of American manufacturers surveyed reported a moderate or serious shortage of qualified applicants for skilled and highly-skilled production positions. 77IMPACT ON VETERANS AND WOUNDED WARRIORS SUCCESS STORYLink to ABC News 10 video clip

Ryan, 25, was a hospital Corpsman in the US Navy who had been struggling to make a successful transition into the civilian workforce.

I was at a low point, Ryan explained. I was ready to give up, as bad and horrible as that sounds. I am not sure what I would have done. I felt totally hopeless.

Ryan graduated from the Summer Semester with 10 Nationally Recognized Credentials and began a job as Product Development Apprentice at Gehring L.P. in Michigan on September 6.

It is so different, he said. I felt so hopeless before. Now I can see a future where I could not before. I am extremely excited.

Ryan, Class of 2016
