YOUTH COMMUNITY OUTREACH OFFICER
ELECTIONS 2012-2014
Two years!
Good luck to all those
running!
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF THE PEOPLE RUNNING
They understand what is required of them once
they get elected (next slide)
They are truly interested in both YCO and China.
They want to serve for two years (unless they’re
graduating).
They are responsible.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF THE ELECTED OFFICERS
Recommended: They go to Henan, China for the
service trip (more information on that later)
Mandatory: They go to 3 outings in the next 6
months
They are truly interested in making the club better
They are willing to lead and/or take on roles
WHY 2 YEARS?
YCO’s elections are for TWO YEARS because we
want CONTINUITY and SUSTAINABILITY.
However, there is a VERY BIG CHANCE (hint hint)
that we will open more officer positions NEXT YEAR
(2012-2013)
TREASURER
Knows how much money we have
Collects receipts for places we spent money on
Makes an accurate account of every single dollar
we gain/spend
As treasurer, I can contribute
experience and ideas. As this
is a new club, I think having a
couple of people who have
experience is essential. As
treasurer of another club, I not
only know how to do the job,
but I can contribute essential
ideas to help it run smoothly.
DEEPTI VARATHAN, 10
I am very good with numbers
and money in general. When I
was younger one of the math
assignments was where you
had a check book to buy
things in class with and at the
end of the year you had to
balance the checkbook. Mine
was balanced perfectly.
KITTY LALWANI, 9
I am the best candidate for
treasurer for many reasons. One
is I’m a good techie. I plan to
keep all receipts and
expenditures accounted for
digitally on my computer. And
the main reason is that I love
money. And no money will be
going anywhere without my
permission.
CHRIS PANG, 9
SECRETARY
Takes many notes
Reports during the next meeting of what we
discussed/accomplished the previous meeting and
during outings
As secretary, I'm sure I can
bring a little organization into
the club. I take good, through
notes, and I can make sure to
have them with me at the next
meeting. I can also be sure to
be at every meeting, including
the officer only meetings.
Thank you!
YE JIN JEON, 9
As the secretary of this club, I
will fully support the Club
needs and buy any necessary
decor for this times event
"Chinese New Year". Posters
with good prosperous sayings,
some lanterns and even some
good old Chinese candy for
the new year.
SHREYA DOSHI, 9
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Contacts the SAS office to tell them to put meeting
reminders on the bulletin when necessary
Communicate with Pertapis, 18 Chefs etc. other
outing sites
Sends out email reminders to members
I can contribute by contacting
members with reminders and the
office to put out reminders on
the bulletin when needed. I'm
very neat, organized and
responsible. I understand that
this is a big responsibility and I
will commit all time and effort
that I can to this club. Thank
you!
AIKO VAPOR, 9
I think I would make the perfect
communications director, as I
speak very clearly and make
things easy to understand. I have
loads of time on my hands to put
meeting reminders on the
bulletin when necessary
communicate with Pertapis, 18
Chefs, Sends out email reminders
and any other simple jobs!
TOORJO MISHRA, 9
SERVICE HOUR DIRECTOR
Makes an accurate account of the service hours
each member has in the club
Attend (mandatory, though there may be
occasionally one exception) all outings and meetings
If I am elected Service Hour
Director, I will be fully
responsible in attending all
meetings and outings, including
the service trip this summer. I
will dedicate however much time
will be necessary in order to
maintain an accurate account of
the amount of service hours club
members have contributed.
DANIEL BIEKER, 10
