DESCRIPTION
In today's video I want to make sure you understand that (1) yes, you do have a Facebook email address and (2) you can access it easily. You may have heard that Facebook made your Facebook email address (based on your username) the only email address to show on your timeline. No sweat ... we will talk about how to make other email addresses show on your timeline, edit your Facebook username and how to find your Facebook messages and deal with the not-so-scary "Other" folder.

Yes, You Have a Facebook Email Address.
And EEK! Consumers might email you through the Facebook medium. No worries. You can totally do this …
But HOW did this happen?

Your Facebook email address is your Facebook username @facebook.com. Your Facebook username is your unique ID on Facebook. You can pick one or get one randomly assigned.
This allows people to send you a message through Facebook and gives your profile it’s own address on the web.
What Are My Options?

If you'd like to customize your address on Facebook, you can choose a new public username.
If you choose a new username, your new Facebook email address will be added to your Contact Info in the About section of your timeline and will appear to friends.
More recently, Facebook made this the ONLY email address to show in the About section of your Facebook timeline.
Why This Matters …

This week, Facebook changed the email address displayed on your Facebook timeline to your Facebook email address.
Okay, not a huge deal and totally editable. The bigger issue that people seem to have is the “Other” part of your Facebook email.
Where is my FB Inbox?

So, if you send an email to me through the “Send Message” on my Facebook profile, the email/message goes to my Facebook inbox.
The Others

Think of the Other as your bulk email/spam folder that you need to check every so often.

Use the drop-down arrows on the right to determine which email addresses display and to whom … the first set is public, friends, etc. options and the second set of drop-downs deals with hidden or shown on your Facebook timeline.

I know that many of you (whether you admit it or not) spend time on Facebook every day. Remember that Facebook is a free service and we are their consumers – Facebook is not out to get you, they are out to connect you (just through Facebook though).
Be aware of account and privacy changes on Facebook. If you are unsure – PLEASE ASK
