The PIBT Advantage – The Programs
Diploma program equivalent to the first year of the respective ECU bachelor degree. Students receive a diploma award upon successful completion and enter the second year of the bachelor degree at ECU
Flexible trimester system with intakes in February, June and October providing fast-track options for students to complete their course sooner (8 – 12 months duration). Full-time and part-time study options available
Embedded employability skills within our programs so that students can reach their potential and ‘get that job’

The PIBT Advantage – Academic Support
Smaller class sizes and individual attention from their lecturers
More contact hours than university (all units are delivered in a classroom setting during the day in 4 hour teaching blocks)
Student mentor program linking new students with senior PIBT and ECU students
Academic support – drop in sessions with course coordinators to provide students with the opportunity for one on one tutoring. Free online seminars to improve study skills, time management, presentation and exam preparation skills

Diploma of Business
Workplace integrated learning through a 16 week full-time industry internship program (unpaid) upon transferring to ECU
Incorporates ECU’s Business Edge program which helps to develop employability skills ensuring graduates will be ‘job-ready’ when they graduate
A variety of majors to choose from with the flexibility to mix and match and choose a single or double major

Diploma of Hotel Management Industry based course with hands on experience across all aspects of the industry One semester internship placement embedded into the curriculum preparing students for the hospitality
industry: Connections with seven leading hotel or resorts in Perth in students second year (Fraser Suites, Novotel
Langley, Hyatt Regency, Crowne Plaza, The Terrace Hotel, The Richardson Hotel, Four Points by Sheraton) Students can earn up to $8,400 before tax during the one semester internship

Courses are developed in consultation with the IT industry and have received the Australian Computer Society’s highest level of accreditation (Level 1)
Work Integrated Learning program offers high achieving students the opportunity to participate in work placements (unpaid) with State and Local Governments, financial institutions and local industries
Strong industry links with graduates being actively sought after by national and international employers

Diploma of Science (Health Studies)
ECU has state-of-the-art health and wellness facilities and the largest undergraduate Nursing program in Australia. The facilities include a 52 bed ward and can be used as an emergency hospital in a major disaster
Nursing students have access to demonstration and clinical practice wards that encourage scenario based learning
18 weeks clinical placement (unpaid) over the duration of the degree. Partnerships with a range of healthcare facilities including Joondalup Health Campus, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, St John of God Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Swan Kalamunda Health Service and Osborne Park Hospital
