Geography-water

Egyptians and kushites settled by the Nile River.

The Nile ended in a delta.

Fish are common in fresh waters.

People need fresh water to live

Geography Topography

Deserts formed a natural barrier that protected people.

Where the river bends is a flatland that is perfect for farming.

When the river floods a blanket of silt is left which is perfect for farming.

Geography - vegetation

Few vegetation was rare in deserts.

Floodwaters are perfect for an irrigation.

Vegetation is plentiful by the Nile River.

Sometimes reeds were weaved into baskets.

Pharaohs -King Tutankhamen

Pharaoh Tut was the only pharaoh that was undisturbed.

King Tut died at 19 years old.

His coffin was pure gold. Everything he ever

played with was in the tomb.

Pharaohs - Tut continued

Tut believed death was a journey across the Nile.

Egyptians lived on the east side and buried on the west side of the Nile.

Stone was important to pharaohs to them it was immortality.

Pharaohs - Ramsies ll

Ramsies died at 90 years old but was a marvelous builder.

He was one of the oldest Pharaohs.

Ramsies had about 90 children and was the only mummy that was whole.

Gods and goddess story

o In the beginning nothing was there but the dark waters of chaos.

o Suddenly a mountain rose up out of the waters!

The first god Atum suddenly rose out on top of it.

He threw up Shu:god of air,Tefnut: goddess of moisture Geb:god of earth,and nut:goddess of sky.

The gods married one another and had two sons: seth and Osiris.

Seth hated his brother and killed him.

Seth lord of earth,Osiris: lord of the underworld.

Hatshepsut

Hatshepsut was the first lady as a pharaoh.

Hatshepsut had most of the power in Egypt.

She even had 200 sphinx guarding her palace.

o The Romans began to take over Egypt.

o Now the pyramids are a symbol of Egypt.

o Their tombs were built to last forever.

• Pharaohs were believed to be gods.

• The new age was known as the golden age.

• Three important ages were the old kingdom,the middle kingdom,and the new kingdom.
