COMPRESSION STRENGTH TEST ON CEMENT
AIM
To determine the compression strength of cement
Apparatus
* metal cube moulds of size 7.06x7.06x7.06cm
* comprassion testing machine
* opc (ordinary portland cement
* standard sand.
* mesuring cylinder.
* non-pouras enamal try& troval.
PROCEDURE
*Take 185gms of cement and 555gms of standard sand in a non-poras enamal try & mix them with a trowels.*Add water of quantity(p/4+3)% of combined weight of cement and sand.*Mix cement sand & water thoroughly and prepare morter,the time of mixing should not be less than 3min,not more than 4min.*Imidiately ofer mixing mortar is filled in the cube moulds of size 7.06*7.06*7.06cm
*Compact the cubes either by hand compaction in a standard manner are use vibrating table for few min.*After 24hr the cubes are removed from the moulds& immersed . In clean fresh water & until taken out for testing.*Three cubes are tested for compression strength at 3days,7days&28days.
