OPERATIONS USED FORFace
Face milling
2D Adaptive Clearing
Geometry milling (open or closed geometry).
2D Pocket
Pocket milling (only closed geometry).
2D Contour
Contour milling, only periphery.
Slot
Slot milling (selecting slot at their edges).
Thread
Thread milling of cylindrical pockets and islands, not for tapping.
Circular Circular milling of cylindrical pockets and islands.

HSMWORKS MANUAL
Bore
Bore milling of cylindrical pockets and islands, not valid for using a counterbore.
2D Chamfer
Chamfering edges (chamfer mill).
Engrave
Engraving with V-shaped chamfered walls (chamfer mill).

OPERATIONS USED FORAdaptive clearing
Roughing strategy available for clearing large quantities of material effectively. It can also be used for rest machining.
Pocket Clearing
Similar to adaptive clearing, different strategy.
Horizontal
Roughing and/or finishing of flat horizontal areas using the pocket clearing strategy.
Contour
Finishing operations of steep areas at constant Z levels.
Paralell
Finishing operations of shallow (non-steep) areas with passes parallel in the XY plane and following the surface in the Z-direction
Scallop
Finishing constant stepover (ae) operation.
Pencil Finishing rest machining operation using constant stepover (ae) toolpaths.
by Endika Gandarias - 5 -
HSMWORKS MANUAL
Radial
Finishing operation using radial toolpaths.
Spiral
Finishing operation using spiral toolpaths, useful in round and shallow (non-steep) areas.
Morphed Spiral
Similar to Spiral.
Ramp
Similar to Contour, but using a ramp instead of constant Z levels to move down the wall.
Project
Finishing engraving (text or symbol) operation. The provided contours are always projected onto the surface and therefore do not have to be on the surface

3. POST PROCESSING
MACHINING TIME & TOOL LIBRARY CALCULUS:
Two ways:
Post-processing MGEP_setup-sheet.cps HTML file Print to PDF file. Right bottom on Job or operation Generate Setup Sheet HTML file Print to
PDF file.
POST PROCESSING:
Post-processing MGEP_fagor_2016_05_04.cpsIMPORTANT NOTES:
o Deactivate all vertical Lead-in & Lead-outs.o Introduce the appropriate F & S values to each tool.o Once post-processed, it is interesting to activate Look-ahead block (G51 A255
E0.001) whenever a 3D geometry is being machined in order to have smooth movements. If helical interpolation is programmed (e.g. linking “Ramping: helix”), when machining in a Fagor 8050 control, the CNC may give an error, and the use of G05 instead of G51 is recommeded.
o When machining with large file size programs (>300KB), Fagor 8050 machines may require to be used in infinite mode.
