In this slide show we will demonstrate how to carry out wiring of different types of motion sensors.

•Type 1: Line voltage motion sensor•Type 2: Low voltage motion sensor





•Type 1: Line voltage motion sensor

In this type, the sensors can be connected directly to your line voltage of 230 volts or 110 volts A C power.





Firstly we will have a look at a normal light circuit.

Electric power of 230 volt or 110 volt A C is applied here. This is your normal electric switch. When the switch is ON, the bulb will light up.





In order to connect a motion sensor, the wiring has to be done as shown in the

next screen









The motion sensor simply acts as an additional switch in the circuit





2. Type 2 is a low voltage motion sensor.

In this case the motion sensor works in low voltage DC circuit like 12 volts to 24 volts DC





Never give the connection directly to a normal power circuit.

This has two components, a Sensor and a power adaptor

The adaptor has two purposes.





1. Convert the A C to D C power.

2. Operate the switching circuit of the light based on the control signal

from the motion sensor.





Wiring of such a model is shown in the next screen









If a person comes into the room, the sensor detects and a signal is sent to the adapter to

switch on the lighting Circuits.
