Outlines

Page 3: Quality of maintenance

There is an important correlation between quality and maintenance.

maintenance management has become an essential part of quality systems.

It is an investment rather than cost.

Improving the quality of maintenance will lead to improved efficiency and effectiveness.

Maintaining perfect equipment to maintain perfect quality of products.

focus on the expansion of maintenance perspective through integrate it with other production programs.

Introduction

Page 4: Quality of maintenance

Quality of maintenance is define by Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance ( JIPM) as: create the conditions that prevent and control defects in the processes and systems to get to the Zero defects stage.

Definition

Page 5: Quality of maintenance

Maintenance quality applied in two phases:

1) Phase I: Reactive reaction or Quality Control phase.

2) Phase 2 : the initiative or quality assurance stage. use of preventive, predictive and proactive

maintenance strategies.

detecting potential failures before they occur.

Implementation

Page 6: Quality of maintenance

the equipment should be free from defects and under quality control.

focus on prevention of upstream. focus on the entrance of the errors

prevention. Divides the defects into main groups effective application of quality assurance

agent

Maintenance quality policies

Page 7: Quality of maintenance

to preserve the value of the asset over time.

to run the operation the longest possible time without breakdowns.

keep the equipment maintained and fully functional at the time of customer request.

Reducing costs of maintenance.

Objectives

Page 8: Quality of maintenance

First : information for product

1) number of the defects and their impact on the product.

2) the amount of iterative combinatorial algorithms of defects in each stage of the measurement.

The required information

Page 9: Quality of maintenance

Second: Special operations information

1) operating conditions for each sub-process.

2) prepared for the situation or conditions for the implementation of sub-module & the situation or the circumstances that accompanied a defect.

Page 10: Quality of maintenance

Some justification for the application of Total quality management system, including comprehensive :-

1) Link between quality & productivity.2) Quality system is comprehensive in all areas.3) Global quality system, which is a feature of modern times.4) The feasibility of some prevailing administrative systems5) The success of the application of the system comprehensive quality in many educational institutions.

Page 11: Quality of maintenance

We found that there are many variables and

factors that affect the maintenance problem in our university, but we select the most common variables which are: doors, tables, lighting ,windows, chairs ,projectors, fans, central heating ,blackboard, internet, curtains, water taps ,wall paint ,fire alarm, computers in the labs ,and fire cabinets.
