IntroductionRemote Controlled Home Applience is a microntroller based wireless system. we choose infrared to design the remote control system for home appliances for our project. Here we used

IR Transmitter (Commonly Used remotes for home appliances) and IR Sensor Modules The

major aim of this project is to deliver the technology of modern world in our country at

low price to general people. The overall performance of the power supply (PS) is

excellent as a constant supply to drive any small load.

Objectives To design and implement +5V variable DC

power supply. To design a remote control system for home

appliances. To implement this system for different

appliances with a single remote. To study about its further application.

Features Wireless management system. Simultaneous control of all distribution

lines. Line activity status check. Emergency breaking of supply when

needed. Data logging of activity throughout a

simple text file.

Easy to use in common purpose

How It Works

Atmega8 microcontroller have it’s internal RC5 Remote control interface which can communicate as peripherals with TV remote.. Infrared (IR) rays generated by the remote control are received by the IR receiver module TSOP1736-1T of the circuit. MicrocontrollerrPin PDB(0,1,2,3)is connected to LED1,2,3,4(red) which glows to indicate that the appliance is ‘on. Transistor T2 (BC547) connected to pin 2 of IC drives Opto-isolator(MOC3021) which gate pulse activate triac(BT136). A 16*2 LCD has set with proper interface.

Advantages

I) For power supply: 1.For DC output only two rectifier diode is used instead of

Bridge rectifier circuit. 2.For filtering and smoothing only one capacitor is used for

each purpose. 3.Variable DC voltage (0-5V) can be obtained. 4.Low cost and portable. II) For IR receiver: 1.Any home appliances can be operated (ON/OFF) with this

circuit. 2.Easy circuit operation and power consumption is low. 3.Appliance states (ON/OFF) indication system are facilitated. 4.This circuit is protected from oscillation or interference by

using separate power supply. 5. Low cost and highly reliable

Application: The scope of application of this circuit is wide- a.It can be used as a remote switching device. b. Any electrical devices (for example; lamp/fan/TV/oven/air

conditioner etc.) can be connected to the relay if the relay contact can handle rated voltage and current.

c. The receiver circuit can sense any IR signal from TV/VCD/DVD remote control of wavelength between 850-950 nm.

II) For power supply: a)This circuit is applicable where 0V to +5V DC is required. I) For remote control switching circuit: b)It can be used as a constant DC source of 0V to +5V.

Conclusion

The major aim of this project is to deliver the technology of modern world in our

country at low price to general people. The overall performance of the power supply (PS) is excellent as a constant

supply to drive any small load. Though economic condition is main factor for designing, so we tried to minimize the

cost as least as possible and within 400 taka this circuit can be constructed in the homeBesides, its features can be extended in

accordance with requirements.
