“Going Green” promotes sustainable transportation in the real world (such as safe routes to school).

Biodiesel - domestic, renew- able fuel for diesel engines. Labeled an advanced biofuel, biodiesel is made from agricultural co-products and byproducts such as soybean oil, other natural oils and greases.

Biodiesel is better for the environment because it is made from renewable resources and has lower emissions compared to petroleum diesel. It is less toxic than table salt and biodegrades as fast as sugar. Since it is made in the USA from renewable resources such as soybeans, its use decreases our dependence on foreign oil and contributes to our own economy.

CongressSince 2013, there is no longer a financial bias in the federal tax code against public transit use. This has always been an issue of fairness, and public transit advocates are pleased that the federal tax code will again provide transit riders with the same tax benefits according to those who drive to work.

Hybrid buses are essentially electric buses just like electric trolley buses.

Rather than get their electricity from overhead wires, they use a small diesel engine to turn a generator that, together with traction batteries, supply the necessary electrical energy to move the bus through the streets.

There is no mechanical connection between the engine and wheels. The engine turns a generator that produces electricity to power drive motors that propel the electric bus.
