Magazines like People or Time make influential people lists every year, so I thought I would join in. My slideshare shows people who are interested in education, such as Salman Khan to LGBT supporters such as Jane Lynch and Ken Mehlman.

+Salman Khan
Salman Khan, 35, started out by helping his cousin with algebra while he was across the country from him.
This turned into him creating online lectures on math, science, and other topics.
It is called khanacademy.org and gives kids free education.
+Maryam Durani
Maryam Durani (middle) lives in southern Afghanistan.
She has her own radio station that focuses on women’s issues.
She has survived several assassination attempts and has been given an International Women of Courage award from Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama.
+Ken Mehlman
Ken Mehlman launched “project right side”. The main goal of this organization is to get more conservatives to support marriage equality.
He has helped to raise millions for LGBT causes and continues to do so.
+Samira Ibrahim
Samira Ibrahim, 25, stood up when Egyptian soldiers began demanding women take “virginity tests”.
She eventually sued the military, and a judge later found what the soldiers were doing to be illegal.
She is still pursuing the case against the doctor who performed these tests.
+Jane Lynch
Jane Lynch has used her fame as an actress to get the point out there that being gay is ok.
She publically married her wife Lara Embry in 2012 who also is an LGBT advocate.
Her openness about it is really what is making a difference.
