A2 Media Questionnaire Analysis

Question 1) What is your age?

From the results I have collected have found that the best target audience for what I am to do is in the 14 to 17 bracket of people, initially the people who are currently in education and possibly in part time employment.

Question 2) What is your gender?

I have also found that the majority of people who answered my questionnaire a males, this will my target audience as this shows most of the results I have collected are based on the personal opinions of the male gender.

Question 3) What is your favourite music genre?

From the results collected I have found that Rock is the more popular choice of music, this would support the fact that the majority of the answers are based on the male opinion, this could effect me as the song I have chosen is indie.

Question 4) How often do you listen to music?

From this set of results I can confirm what I suspected as the almost everyone who answered my questionnaire has said that they listen to music daily, proving that music is an important part of my audience’s lives.

Question 5) How do you consume your music?

As I suspected, the type of audience I am targeting is audience 2.0, this is reflected as everyone as said that the consume their music over the internet more that they do using other medias such as CD and Television.

Question 6) How do you usually get your music?

As I have said the target audience of my project will we audience 2.0, this is reinforced by the fact that they seem to ‘acquire’ music mostly over the internet using ‘Free Downloads’ rather than going out to ‘Buy’ a physical copy on a CD.

Question 7) What type of music video do you prefer?

This set of results I found rather interesting as I predicted the people who answered my questionnaire would prefer narrative over performance and concept.

With these results I, it suggests that they prefer a video which is on a tangent to the lyrics; one which is based on an idea (Concept), or a Performance by the band/ group/ performer.
