InuYasha is the story of a dog half-demon who is constantly after a jewel of immense power, the Shikon jewel, also known as the Shikon no tama.

  The story takes place in feudal japan, begins with Kikyo shot Inuyasha with her arrow and sealed him to a tree.  She then died and her body was burned along with the Shikon Jewel.
