General Admission June 8th Historic Gardening Symposium e Garden at Bacon’s Castle is the oldest known English Formal Garden in North America. Speakers will discuss the archaeology and new research on the garden. Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited to 25 participants. Register online at preservationvirginia.org/events by April 20th for $10 off the $35 per person registration so register early! August 24thNat Turner Rebellion SymposiumFor the anniversary of this historic event Bacon’s Castle will be hosting two guest speakers and provide a private tour of our 1829 Slave Quar-ters. Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited to 25 participants.Early registration tickets are $10 off the $35 per person registration so register early!

September 21stBacon’s Rebellion Re- Enactment and Seminars by Foodways Historian, Leni Sorenson.

Rebels from the 1676 provincial rebellion led by Nathaniel Bacon have occupied the Arthur Allen Brick House, gardens and grounds! They will take time from the rebellion to discuss with you historical impact of this event.

October 26thHaunted Bacon’s Castle

Enter the darkness within our castle

walls. A private tour will take seven of

you through Bacon’s Castle, but only if

you reserve a space in advance! Hourly tours will be available between the hours of 7:00pm and 11:00pm. Limit 7 people

per tour. Register online at preservationvir-ginia.org/events by October 19th for $10 off

the $30 per person registration so register early!

November 2ndGuy Fawkes Bonfire Night Guy Fawkes and other terrorist conspirators failed to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605. Bacon’s Castle will provide you this night with bonfires, food, beverages, and of course the burning of Guy Fawkes! General Admission

December 7thChristmas at Bacon’s CastleCelebrate the holidays with us and learn more about 17th century English Christ-mas traditions and decorations. We will share warm seasonal beverages joyfully with you. General Admission

Our 2013 Hours of Operation are:March through December Friday- Saturday 10-5 p.m. Sundays 12-5p.m.
