Pop Genre

• The genre I initially choose for my music magazine was Pop I chose this is because pop music is universal and I would find it easy to develop a pop magazine because I have knowledge in pop culture. I research Pop music magazine the models I used were Blender, Top of the Pops, We (love) Pop and Billboard.

Changing my Genre to Indie/Alternative Music

• After my Pop music magazine research I decided to change the genre of my magazine to some thing more challenging and non commercial. By doing this I would need to do more in depth research. When looking for Indie music magazines I was unable to find a wide variety of magazines, this lead me to find NME and Indie/Alternative music magazine, The Fly an Indie/Alternative music magazine , AP magazine which covers under ground Indie Music and Spin magazine who genre is Indie/Popular music. As indie music is fairly new I wanted to create a music magazine which cover stories with in the genre and increase its popularity.
