The black and white colour scheme of the front cover creates a trouble-free and effortless image that mimics the style and genre of the music.

The simple choice of colour also echoes the calm, mellow atmosphere that surrounds the music.

The basic use of black and white also reflects Richard Ashcroft’s personality, showing modest and humble traits in his character, compared to the arrogance of other artists.

The cover itself is again a very basic image of the artist Richard Ashcroft, once of the verve, who is walking alone, illustrating the change from band member to solo artist. He gives no eye contact and doesn’t pose for the camera, again reflecting the oblivion from his fame and his modesty. As he is the focus of the image, with the background being slightly blurred, this conveys that his music was encouraged by his own life and experiences, with songs about himself and his past, as well as the people around him, giving the album a more meaningful value. The image is set down a London road. Ashcroft is from Manchester which reiterates why he may be alone in the picture, being in a different place to which he once was, however shows how much he has progressed and the success he has reached.

The core theme of the album cover is simplicity, and the font of the text bluntly names the artist and album name.

The back cover is a similar image to the front, however Ashcroft is looking back, which may symbolise that the music is about his past.

The track listing is simply in order of song and they are without timing.

The production credits and the record label information are all on the back cover. Parlophone is the record label, and Virgin and EMI records are also a part of the production of the album.
