Recycling of water: closed loop usage.

Flesh to fuel (of waste to energy)

Life Project: EU funded, reduction of energy requirement in process. Savings realised: Electricity 48%, Gas 18%, Water 32%

Ongoing environmental impact reduction and recycling all tanneries.

RECYCLING – FLESH TO FUEL

Processing plant gives 3 by-products

1. A solid containing protein and fibres – waste reduced by 80%.

2. Water – cleaned to high standard through waste water plant

3. Tallow – used to heat water in tannery.

Reduction of up to 1/3 of fuel required in the tannery process
