EVENTS IN LEICESTER

INDIAN SUMMER Indian Summer is a local event in Leicester that

happens annually.

It is a festival that gives people the chance to

experience the culture of India and the food that

they make.

Not only is food to be offered but also film, music,

dance, literature, games and workshops. Activities

that are not normally available !

BAND ON PARKSBands on Parks gives people the opportunities to

go to their local parks within Leicester and listen to

live music, this is organised by the Leicester city

Council.

The people coming down to listen to the music also

get the chance to become helpers within the parks

and clean up the parks to make it a better

environment.

SPARK FESTIVAL Spark festival is a 2 week festival that takes place

each year between the months of May and June.

Theatre, Dance and Music performances are on

offer as well as visual and digital events for children.

This event is held at the Curve theatre in Leicester

and welcomes all family’s to come down and get

involved in the ‘Free’ activities on offer.

RICHARD IIILeicester search for a ‘King’

From the 18th May – 9th June Guildhall exhibition will hold

a facial reconstruction before they go to tour around the

UK.

This is a story being held in the Leicester Cathedral

telling the life of Richard III.

This is open to the public and welcomes people to come

and listen.

LEICESTER CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL

Leicester Caribbean Carnival is a carnival that

happens in Leicester each year.

It is at a park within Leicester where thousands of

people gather to listen to music and go on different

rides and also eat food.

It is an all round a good day put for family's and

children to have fun and mix with other people.

SUMMER SUNDAE Summer sundae is an music festival in Leicester

that happens annually.

This is an event for family's and friends to all

gather around and listen to music including some big

names.

As well as travelling for the day to watch the music

you also have the opportunity to camp over night

and stay for the weekend receiving the whole

package of a ‘ music festival’.

LEICESTER PRIDE The main goal of Leicester pride is to promote

equality and diversity and eliminate discrimination.

The aim is also to raise a lot of money for existing

charities that are backing the ideas of Leicester

Pride and make kind donations to them for there

work.

The festival lasts 9 days with many different

activities on offer such as sport, music and film

events.

EDL MARCH EDL have recently marched through Leicester protesting against other race’s including most recently Muslims as it has been hot news within the media.The EDL march has actually achieved very little however the protests continue as the members of the EDL are still not happy with the different Race’s within the English community’s
