Flashing colors

You are a worldwide famous historian collecting information about colonialism and imperialism and people are really curious regarding the information you have collected.

Your friend, the brilliant scientist created a time travelling machine especially for you, by using it you will return to the era of colonialism and imperialism to take the quiz. You will be given a set of instruction once you reach. Good luck!

In order make sure the information you collected have is correct, you decided to take the once in a lifetime opportunity to take a detour to the past with the intention of completing a quiz.

Warning!The ‘Warning!’ sign, will be flashing, by switching colors of orange and red. This, however, will already be indicated on the screen since the beginning. However, when the spacebar is clicked for the second time, this sign will stop flashing colors and will stay a solid red color.

These boxes, will appear at the same time once the spacebar is clicked on for the second time (same time as the ‘warning’ sign.)

Once the spacebar is clicked on the fourth time, everything will disappear and the animation will continue to the second slide.

This particular shape will be animated so that it is zooming into the circle so that it will look like we are actually going into it. However, the circle will also be rotating clockwise. Therefore implying the idea that we are going back into time.

The background will remain white as only the swirl will remain black as the only object (sprite) on the screen.

This will appear for no more than 5 seconds.

The circle will cover the full screen as well. However, there will be some music or sound which matches the theme of disappearing into the past. This will once start whilst the circle animation begins.

Initially, choose a specific part of the map, the countries that are available will be highlighted in different colors.

Subsequently, this magic portal key will lead you to a set of questions depending upon the country you click on, from the map.

As simple as this sounds, a question will appear with a three multiple choice answer. Your job is to simply select the factual answer.

As you click on a multiple choice answer, you will be shown if your understanding of this question is correct or incorrect.

However, different questions will appear as you click the magic portal shape.

There will be a score kept throughout the quiz and shown after every answer is chosen.

Once you have completed one section of the quiz, there will be a magic portal key leading back to the world map and you will just have to repeat the steps given again.

Finally, when you have completed all the sections of the quiz, there will again be a magic portal key leading to the correct answers with the score you have achieved. This is so you will be able to reflect on your understanding in the end.

Instructions Start

The scroll will initially be rolled up, indicated on the screen in the beginning.

However, after the scroll will gradually unfold itself until it is fully open (similar to what is shown through in the picture)

The set of instructions is written inside the scroll. However the words will only once appear after the scroll is fully open.

In order to go to the next section of the animation, the audience will have to click the start button which will continue the game. However, this will appear after 20 seconds after the instructions are shown.

Time

This timer will be a countdown from15 seconds. Therefore keeping the students to think with a specific amount of time set, consequently allowing them to efficiently. Once the time is up, the questions and multiple choices would automatically change to the next one. The timer will be indicated on the screen from the start the, however it will only start countdown when the 3rd multiple choice answer is indicated on the screen.

This button is kept there just in case the student completes the question earlier than the set time. However, this button will only appear once a answer is chosen. Therefore they would be able to continue the quiz by going to the next question. However, when all 10 questions are complete, this button will automatically link back to the map.

Instead of ‘question’ being written, there will be different questions up each time along with the multiple choice answers, regarding the Scramble for Africa. (written on the next page) The title and the question will already be indicated on the screen since the beginning.

The multiple choice answers would be given contingent upon the question given. (shown on the next page along with the questions) However, the multiple choice answers will only appear one at a time starting with the number one to number three.
