For my focus group I got two of my class mates to analyse some rock and indie magazines. This made my research more refined as both classmates are interested in rock music, I purposely chose them as they fit into my focus group which is aimed at teenagers ages 16 that like rock music.

I have asked both students what they liked about the magazines and to pick out the key features that they liked the most. The feedback that I get from the students will give me a better idea on how to improve the design of my magazine.

Edward Marshall described the magazine that I showed him as “crammed full of information”, I can use this feedback to make sure there is a decent amount of content in my final product. He also said that there was a good combination of pictures and text. I will try to include as many pictures as I can to make the user experience more enjoyable.

Brett Tinnion thought that the colours used on the front cover on the magazine were used well and related to the genre, the colours he mentioned were red, black and white. This relates back to my design as I plan to use red black and white in my final magazine. Brett also stated that buzz words made him want to read the magazine further, I will try to include some buzz words on the front cover of my magazine as they will attract more readers.
