Traditional Halloween includes 3 days
It is easy to connect Halloween with ghosts. The
reason is that Halloween is considered as the day when the ghost world is the closest to the human world according to European tradition.
Halloween normally includes 3 parts:HalloweenOctober 31
All Saints‘Day
November 1
All Souls‘Day
November 2
Halloween or Hallowe‘en is a contraction of “All Hallows’ Evening”, it initiates the
triduum of Hallowmas, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. In Western Christian theology, the day commemorates all those who have attained the beatific vision in Heaven. The word
"saints" refers to all Christians. Also known as the Commemoration of All Faithful Departed, and also used for praying for the dead.

Origin and History
Today's Halloween customs are thought to have been influenced by folk customs and beliefs from the Celtic-speaking countries, some of which have pagan roots, and others which may be rooted in Celtic Christianity.
Halloween is at the end of October, and marked as the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or the 'darker half' of the year. It is also
the most important festival during the year.
It is also know as “Ghost Festival”. It is very dangerous in this day, as ghosts leave dead bodies and appear in the world. Celtics always put on a mask to frighten these ghosts away.
The mass Irish and Scottish immigration during the 19th century brought
Halloween to North America
Other countries started to celebrate Halloween for the influence of US popular culture.

Symbols
Jack-o'-lanterns are traditionally considered as the symbol of Halloween. In Ireland and Scotland,
the turnip has traditionally been carved during Halloween, but immigrants to North America used the native pumpkin, which is both much softer and
much larger, making it easier to carve than a turnip. Carved pumpkin is placed in front of the house to frighten evil spirits away.
Elements of the autumn season, such as pumpkins,
corn husks and scarecrows, are also prevalent. Homes are often decorated with these types of symbols around Halloween.
Halloween imagery includes themes of death, evil, and mythical monsters.
Black, orange, and sometimes purple, green and red are Halloween's traditional colors.

“Trick-or-Treat”
Trick-or-Treat is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or sometimes money, with the question "Trick or treat?“. Hosts
will bring candies, chocolates or little gifts to them. Candies one kid get for a night can be measured in bags.
In Scotland, kids will say “The sky is blue, the grass is green, may we have our Halloween.” when asking for candies. After that, they would also sing and dance for getting candies.
Halloween comes in the wake of the yearly apple harvest, toffee apples are common Halloween
treats made by rolling whole apples in a sticky sugar syrup, sometimes followed by rolling them in nuts.
