• In 2010 monsters was marketed in a very similar way to a film with the same themes (District 9). A lot of posters and signs from the actual film production was advertised in cinema foyers and in the street

HARRY POTTER

• Harry potter was marketed on a bigger scale than monsters due to the fact that it was produced by a major studio (Warner Bros.) because of that they could afford to sell merchandise, games and re sell special versions of the books which was already been on the market for years.

HOW DIFFERENT EACH PRODUCT WAS MARKETED

• Monsters and Harry potter had very different ways of marketing their products, monsters went with the more subtle and making you feel immersed in their world approach where as Harry potter went with the full on approach with various trailers, websites and merchandise.
