Kerrang:Kerrang is a very popular “rock/emo” magazine, I like Kerrang as it uses main images that attract the reader. They have a very specific audience, and they capture there needs right down to the last detail. I think this magazine cover is aimed at teenagers/young adults who enjoy alternative music. I think the most popular part of Kerrang are the free posters inside and the interviews with artists. I particularly like Kerrang as the main image always catches you eye and “pulls you in” and makes you want to read more.

NME:

Nme is similar to Kerrang, they both direct their magazine at rock/emo/metal music lovers. They both contain information on up-coming albums, concerts, gigs. They both provide coverage on recent concerts and albums. They also have a write in page so people can express their point off view. Once again Nme is similar to Kerrang as it uses capturing pictures to catch you eye.

Q:

As you can tell I’ve gone for the same genre for most of my magazine covers, Q is no exception, Q does however broad out to Indie music. I this this is a broader magazine, it isn’t mainly directed at one particular sub-culture. I particularly like Q as it has a “modern” layout to it, its need and easy to read, they also go for pastel/grey backgrounds which I think adds a modern edge to it.
