MOVIE POSTER ANALYSIS
Overview
My poster’s foreground denotes a close up of a
white man with long, black hair looking at the
viewer.
My poster’s background denotes a stormy looking
beach.
There is a large headline, accompanied by a
tagline and a date of release. There is a small
ident for Fenris Studios beneath the release date
and a website name in each of the bottom
corners. At the top of the poster, there are three,
evenly spaced actor names.
AnalysisStormy
background is
dramatic and
naturally draws
attention as the
grey-blue sky
and orange-
brown sand are
colour
compliments.
The
background
connotes
uncertainty and
threat, thanks
to it’s dramatic
nature and vivid
colours.
White man with
long black hair.
Black has
connotations of evil
and contrasts with
the actor’s pale
skin, which makes
the picture stiking.
Unnaturally bright
blue eyes have a
mysterious,
supernatural
quality about them
– hinting at the
possibility of
supernatural
happenings in the
film.
The character’s
eyeline is also
AnalysisTitle is large in
order to draw
attention. The
text has a glow
effect around
it, again hinting
at supernatural
themes.
Tagline short and
dramatic – hints at
controversial
subject of
blasphemy, religiou
s themes and
revenge.
Actor names at
the top of the
poster fit move

Ambiguous release
date – this is a
teaser poster and
would be released
months in advance
of the film itself.Websites are

nowadays, so it
has become a
growing
convention to

least one ident, as it
is vital for the
company’s

and conventions.
