The most popular out of all of them is Top of the pops, I know a lot of people that would still buy that magazine even at my age (16). I used to read it when I am younger and used to love it. Most pop magazines are weekly instead of monthly because the charts change every Sunday. So every week they talk about the new people in the charts.

Even though they are so many pop artists, in fact there are new pop artists every week bringing out songs that people have on repeat. However even though they are new ones, my magazine is a very edgy pop magazine and I do not want an artist in my magazine that is ‘childish’ or too young for my magazine, I want to portray my model as a very mature artist that has a very big and good profile, eg Lady Gaga, Beyonce, etcpeople that are known by a lot of people.

This photo is the top 10 of this week (3/11/14 - 9/11/12)This shows that Ed Sheeran, Thinking Out Loud as been in the charts for 19 weeks, this suggests to me that one, he has a good fan base and two, the song is good and people want to download it. The song Wicked Games is brand new and has only been in the charts for this week however it has taken spot number 6. This suggests that there is something about that song that people like to get it to number six in just under a week. Steal my Girl by One Directions has been in the charts for 3 weeks and has climbed the charts 11 places, which is really good, however it is only at place 7.

This shows that the 5/10 of the records that are the best selling songs are female singers or have men and female singing in them. This suggests to me good things are my target audience is female I should maybe look at doing

female and male singers, however my double page spread story is on a female artist.

Best selling Albums of 2014 so far:

Only 3/10 of these albums are or have female singers on the album, this suggests to me that female artist are better with songs that albums.
