1. Which tools did you use to complete the task and describe how you used them to complete your self portrait.

2. Were there any parts of the task/specific tools which you found difficult and if so, what were they and why?

3. Finally, how successful were you in completing the given brief and what improvements would you make next time.

When making my Opie I used a quite a few tools, for example I used the Magnetic lasso tool and the general lasso tool, the magnetic lasso tool was the easiest to use and it guided you along the lines of what you wanted to select. I also used the eyedropper tool, which was very helpful when I was doing my denim jacket, it was quite difficult when it came to lots of different colours all in one area the eyedropper tool helped a lot. I also used the brush and pencil tool which was very helpful when doing lines and filling in small spaces. The paint bucket tool was also very helpful when filling in big spaces that were all the same colour. I used the rectangular marquee tool which was helpful when I was doing a certain area on my Opie, it made sure I didn’t go over the lines. I didn’t use that many tools as the ones I did use were very helpful and helped

me do what I wanted to achieve. All the tools at first were hard to use as it was my first time on Photoshop but as soon as I used them once or twice it was very easy and the tools were easy to use and very handy and helpful. For example the layers were quite hard to use at first and having to remember to create a new one and use the original if you wanted to select something on your image. Over all I personally think my finished Opie came out quite well, as I showed people and they said it looked like me. If I was to do the task again I would certainly add more detail to the face, especially the eyes as they are quite simplistic. I would also add more detail to my nose as it is very simple however you can tell what it is meant to be and the black dots to create the effect of a nose. Over all I am proud of my finished product!
