2. We think that our film, The Lady in Red, would be a very successful Film Noir because itfollows all the conventions of a film noir and has a really dramatic storyline, which will keepviewers on the edge of their seats. We have produced our film from a variety of different successful film noirs such as: Sin City LA Confidential Laura Se7enTwo of these films (LA Confidential and Se7en), were produced in Hollywood studios. If wewere to have our film produced in a Hollywood studio, it would give our film more of a chanceto grow a fan base and also have a bigger budget. Our film will appeal to a Hollywood studiobecause it is a black and white movie, chroma key, the props we used, and our talentedactors. The Chroma key which we used, was inspired by the film Sin City, as you can see inthe video above. 3. In our opinion, we think that our film would make a very, very successful TV Movie ifit were to be produced, because we would have a much bigger audience. However, we have chosen to release it as a Hollywood film because due to thespecial effects and money in which we would spend making this film, we believe thatto maximize our profits, we would release it as a Hollywood film rather than a TVMovie. We would show our movie on channels such as: CI (Crime & Investigation) Fox Cinema Channel 5 Sky1.We would have chosen to release our film at about Autumn/Winter time because this isthe time of year people tend to sit in their house and watch TV the most as the weather isusually cold.We have chosen these four channels because it fits in with our film genre, which iscrime, very well.Because our film would have strong language, violence, heavy drug use and sexscenes, we would not tailor, or put it on a channel which has an under 18 audience and itwould not be suitable for the younger generation. The channels in which we would avoidwould be Disney Channel, Fox Kids and MTV. 4. Our film would be distributed by Warner Bros. because they are a trusted, popular film noir distributor and area very successful company. We chose these because they are a well known studio and have created a lot ofsuccessful films such as Harry Potter and LA Confidential, a very successful film noir.LA Confidential was released in 769 theatres and managed to make $5,211,198 on the opening 3 days of itsrelease. This stands out from the films which were released to many more cinemas and still didnt make anywhere near that much. In the top 20 films, Warner Bros. take 3 places which means they are very successful.Because our film would contain strong language, violence and sexscenes, the BBFC certificate we have chosen our film to be would be an18, the film noir genre is also mainly aimed at an older audience. Wehave decided that our film will not distribute merchandise as theaudience in which we have appealed to, will most likely not want to buyt-shirts and other merchandise as it is usually the younger generationwho buy these things. 5. We think that our film should be released as an Hollywood film because, it is a typical noir settingwith a casino and on the top of a roof in a built up area.We have also put Sienna (the Femme Fatale) in a red dress, using a chroma key, she is also themain character so we need her to stand out. The expensive suits in which the three police men wearwould also link in with the high budged of Hollywood movies. Many film noirs include low key lighting and usually a casino scene, so we included this when thepolice men discover what Hugo is cheating on Sienna, we also included the low key lighting tomake our film a lot more dramatic. We do not feel that our film should be an Internet only release, this is because our film is aimed at awide range of people over the age of 18 and would not get the recognition it would deserve if it wasto be an internet release only. Also, it would not make as much money because not everyone likes to buy things off theinternet, alternatively, some people do prefer buying films off the internet as they find it much moreeasier than walking to the shop to purchase it. To ensure that everyone has the choice weather tobuy it from a shop, or online, we would sell our film on both the Internet and in the shop.
