Analysis•From looking at my previous magazine it is clear to see how my skills have developed. •My music magazine cover looks more professional, more evenly spread out and easier to read.•This helps to target my audience more effectively as young people do not want to have lots of information to read. There is a clear color scheme that the magazine follows and the clear, sharp tilted mastheads show the reader that the pages are from the same magazine. •The font styles also help to target my audience more effectively as it symbolizes the indie genres rebellion from traditional mainstream magazines and reminds the reader of the stamped effect of visiting an underground Indie gig.

Analysis•Similarly to my front cover the contents page for my music magazine looks much more professional. The

information is evenly spread out and easy to read which helps to target the audience of young people.

•The clear colour scheme is also evident and the photos taken are more professional looking, with much more skill involved to take the background out of the main sell band

photograph.•The magazine takes on a more professional feel as

there are many hints to visit the website, promoting the other media platforms that my magazine has including the small box that is dedicated to further subscription.•This also shows my increased proficiency with using

both photoshop and Quark Express.

Photography

•To target my audience more effectively I have used many close ups of the bands and artists involved. This helps to target the audience as they feel more connected to the band and that they are real people, not just

cardboard cutouts. This also follows the Indie music genre.•The photos are simple and have little in the way of props and are also not majorly edited. This helps to connote the Indie music genre as they

like to concentrate on the music rather than the fancy editing in the magazine.

•Both magazines show females in a positive light as they are not wearing reveling clothing or posing sexually. This connotes their independence

and as students they are telling their fans about the values and importance of education.

•The fun poses similarly connote the normality and informalness of the band and that the audience will relate to them as they are just normal

teenagers like them. This also connotes a sense of fun and excitement within the magazine.

Post-Production Skills•My postproduction skills have had the most

improvement between completing my student magazine and my media magazine.

•My magazine looks more professional with each part evenly spread out and in the correct space,

making it easy to read and find any piece of information that the reader wants at any one time.

•This could be shown by the way that I have deleted the background on the contents page

photograph of the mainsell band and how I have managed to make the text run around the picture

and quote boxes in the double page spread.

Organisation and Planning

• Organisation, planning and preparation were three important factors during the process of completing my coursework.

• By organizing my time effectively I was able to keep to the tight deadlines set and, by using blogger, was able to keep a running diary with what I was doing and what stage I was at throughout the process.

• Planning was also a key aspect of my media coursework. I had to plan every detail of what, how and when I was going to do things like take the cover shots and interview members of my target audience so that I was able to get every part of my coursework done on time and that I didn’t find my self falling behind.

• Preparation was also a key part of my coursework. I had to prepare where and when I was going to interview my target audience and take the cover shots of my mainsell band. This helped as otherwise I would be falling behind everyone else and also running over lesson time for my target audience and cover band.

• Overall I managed to stick to my tight deadlines and complete my media magazine coursework effectively and efficiently.
