Gender

This result shows that my audience will, evidently, be

mostly females. I chose to ask random people and

found that, naturally, there will be more girls.

However, I will still aim my music magazine towards

males and females as the ratio of both is very close.

Age

As the people questioned were all students in St.

Marylebone Sixth Form, they were all obviously

going to be aged between 16 and 18. This means my

magazine must appeal to this age group. To do this,

I’ll try and make it look current and relative to them.

I thought showing the ages separately would help as

sixteen year olds have very different mind sets than

eighteen year olds.

Favourite music magazine

This graph shows that the majority of people don’t read

music magazines. This means that I will have to make sure

mine appeals to those who aren’t familiar with music

magazines. However, from those who do read, the most

favoured is Rolling Stone. Luckily, I also like this magazine

and it’s already my inspiration for designing one.

How often would people read one?

It is quite evident that most of the people aren’t really

interested in music magazines, as they would rather

read one every year. I then will have to make sure

that mine is interesting enough to, maybe, change

their minds. I am aware that my most of my readers

will be new to music magazines, therefore I will have

to make mine quite welcoming and very appealing.

Maximum price

Most of the people have would pay £2.50 maximum for a

music magazine. This is the cheapest price out of the

options. This could be because most aren’t as familiar

meaning they wouldn’t want to pay more for something

they’re not that interested in. Or this could be because

ones that they have read aren’t worth spending more on.

This means that I will have to make sure mine is worth

above this price, and hopefully, it will be.

Genre

The top three genres that are favoured are reggae, hip

hop and indie. As the results are very close, I’ll do

research on each of them and choose which one

myself. The least are pop, rock and jazz. Therefore, I

won’t base my magazine on any of those.

Most played song This was a very open question, so there was no way I could

record the results. However, the reason I asked was so that I

could include it in my magazine as the top most played songs.

Colour Scheme

Most of the people picked the colour black as their preferred

colour scheme. This is followed closely by white. This is positive

result as the colours black and white go really well together can

create a really good effect. It also compliments the ideas I have

for my design. The least liked is green, so I will avoid using the

colour as much.
