Radio Advert Sound Effects and Music Meeting – 15 th July 2013 Today we are discussing the incidental music What genre of music should be used Discussing tempo and pitching Sara suggesting that we have an up tempo beat tune over our radio voice over, as did Melis Sophia and Aaliyah. Sophia suggested that we have an urban edge to our soundtrack to appeal to our youthful target audience. Aaliyah then suggested that we find a sound track using Garageband and add different layers of instruments to create our own unique sound. Melis suggested that we use drum kits and a tune on the piano to add to this thought. We decided that our soundtrack will have an urban edge so it sounds current as we are aware most songs on the charts fall in the R‘n’B genre. Therefore we will be using the uses and gratification theory to target our audience as it will be identifiable that the radio advert is targeting them. We have decided to use an up beat tempo to compliment our soundtrack and voice over as it connotes excitement and enthusiasm which is the tone we wish to portray in our magazine. Meeting - 10 th September 2013 Today we are discussing the sound effects that are going to be used in our Radio advert What sound effects should be included Sophia suggested that we should have sound effects of a door bell for the start of the conversation so that it sounds like the people talking are friends. Mel and Aaliyah both suggested that there should be ambient sound on a busy road so that the conversation sounds like they bumped into each other. Sara suggested we have ambient sound of a café over the conversation at the beginning of the radio advert. We decide to use the ambient sound of the café as it sounds more realistic and therefore our audience can relate more thus, enticing them to purchase our magazine.
