The age of our target audience will be 14-19 year olds. By asking the age of the respondents we were able to find out who to target our horror trailer at. This made it easier to us to identify what this age group wanted in a horror film.

By asking the gender were are able to target and understand our audience better. We will target our horror film to both male and female, but will address more females.

This question shows that a significant 77% of the respondents go to the cinema 1-3 times a month. This question allows us to see if our target audience use the cinema as a main method of film consumption.

By finding out what the most common paradigms are we are able to use it in our trailer. From this we can see that murder and knife are two most common paradigms. This tells us that our audience would like to see these two features. So we will aim to have a murder and a knife in our trailer.

This tells us that 34% our potential target audience think that the best setting for a horror film is a playground, 23% think that an isolated house is the best setting and only 7% think the best setting is a high school. Therefore we will set our horror film in a playground or an isolated house and not a high school.

We asked this question so that we could find out what type of villain people liked and base our characters around these negative characters.

The majority of the potential target audience do not believe that the male gaze is not necessary in a horror film, so we will not be putting in any features that portray the male gaze.

This question tells us that the majority of or target audience consume film through the TV, in the comfort of their homes. Also the second most popular method of consuming films is online. This may be because as the majority of our target audience are students, it is convenient, easy and cheap for them, as their disposable income would be quite low.

This shows that the majority of the potential target audience prefer psychological and super-natural type of horror films.

The majority of the participant found The Ring trailer most effective, therefore we will try and use the codes and conventions of that trailer to make our own.
