The roots of Hip-Hop Originated in late 1960s. Invented by Afrika Bombataa. Boiled into a particular movement movement and a culture. It was a culture rooting from New-York amongst black and lattino ghetto's.

The roots of Hip-Hop

• Originated in late 1960s. Invented by Afrika Bombataa.

• Boiled into a particular movement movement and a culture.

• It was a culture rooting from New-York amongst black and lattino ghetto's.

How it spread?

• It was a street culture that existed over the globe but in USA it has one special isolation that spilled on the street of white quarters and then onto the masses e.g. Show business and cinema.

• In 70s the main concept were rap, break dance, graffiti and street type. The development of hip hop culture and it's transformation was prevalent in South Bronx, the black ghetto of New York.

How it developed?

• In Jamaica Campbell was a master in music in which music evolved around youth life. His status grew from his speech; "master of ceremony", which he gathered music plates

• The music and rhythmic text developed the word 'rap'. This conceived dancers to repeat instrumental breaks between verses.

How the culture grew?• It led dance to the floor and more

enthusiasm in dancers. This dance constructed the word 'break-dancing'. Dance became popular in 1969 by James Brown's writing of funk hit "the broad foot".

• Bombata came up with his own break dance from Zulu nation grew into organisations, DJ, graffiti artists, dances and the hip hop culture.

Where does it stand in contemporary society?

• The 90s saw a new form of hip hop culture penetrate into pop culture, absorbing new styles and elements.

• Hip-Hop was and is a popular culture whicis enjoyed by many. Magazines and the media industry take advantage of this for marketing purposes such as XXL.

• Magazines and the media till today are still developing and ongoing. New rapers, styles, interviews and events lead to more and more people buying Hip-Hop magazines.
