When The Royal Horseguards was built, the railway was the

latest in technological achievement. Quite what the Victorians

Our former neighbours, the Metropolitan Police, have long

since moved to New Scotland Yard. But they have not been

forgotten – and nor has their telephone number, once famous

throughout London, which now gives our restaurant its rather

unusual name. One Twenty One Two offers an innovative

menu, superb wine list, the impeccable Guoman standards

of service, and a piano bar in which to enjoy an aperitif –

or simply a quiet drink when you finally come off duty.

Our outdoor Terrace provides a chance to get away from it

all, without even leaving the hotel. Quiet and secluded,

it feels a million miles from the hurly-burly of Whitehall

and the City. It is a perfect spot to enjoy a drink, or a little

as a backdrop.

One Whitehall Place, our dedicated conference and events

facilities, were originally built as the home of the National

Liberal Club. Its founder was William Gladstone,

four times British Prime Minister, whose name lives on

in the Gladstone Library. Although its estimated 30,000

volumes are painstakingly restored replicas, the room itself

is just as he would have known it, including the upper levels

which now serve as a minstrel’s gallery. An inspiring setting

for your great occasion.
