How often do you listen to the radio?

70% of the people answered they listen to the radio sometimes so not on a daily basis which shows that radio news is listened to quiet frequently from our target audience.

20% of our survey people said they never listen to the radio so we want to change this by making the radio more entertaining for teenagers to listen to so they spend time listening to radio more often.

What is your favourite radio station and why?

• Most of the people said Capital FM due to the fact it has the latest music and they enjoy listening to music. This tells us that we must make our radio station interesting and entertaining by adding the hottest tunes to keep our target market fascinated.

• Also teenagers are into music, gossip, game shows, quizzes and competitions which suggest that are not really into listening to radio that contains hard news as they may get bored.

Where do you listen to the radio?

• 60% listen to the radio on their mobile phones this may be because they have quick and easy access to the radio and your mobile it compact and portable allowing them to listen to the radio anywhere.

Who Listens To The Radio?

We found out that it was mostly teenage girls that were interested in the radio as mostly girls completed the survey which shows males weren’t too interested.

What Keeps You Entertained When Listening To A Radio Newscast?

Most people said they prefer to listen to music on the radio rather than actual news because it keeps the entertained in the car.

Some people also said the prefer to listen to celebrity gossip (Soft News) on the radio and enjoy the competitions.

What do expect from a newscast presenter?

A lot of people said they want presenters to have a clear voice, deliver the news but also be fun, entertaining, quirky and enthusiastic. Definitely the perfect qualities for a perfect presenter.

How Long Would You Prefer A Newscast To Last For?

Many people said they would like it to be 5-10mins. They want it to be short and sweet because if it is too long, it can get boring and lose focus. If it goes over, teenagers are very likely to tune out.

If You Do Not Listen To Radio Why?

One particular person said its boring as you cannot visualise anything. This means that as a radio presenters, it is essential to be able to create a picture in the audiences mind so they don't get bored. Some said they do not have time to listen to it, which shows that keeping the news short and relevant means audience are able to keep up with the show.
