Overview of story - A young girl named Sophie has a brief encounter with a figure in the woods who claims the life of her best friend and throughout the story meets Sophie with another fatality of someone close to her just around the corner. When Sophie believes that the man is after her family she starts to look into who he is and why he is after her. Outline of opening sequence –

BEGGINING

1. Opening long shot of the girl next to a road walking home

2. A close up of the girls shoes as she walks down the path whilst on the phone to her mother

3. The phone conversation continues whilst a medium shot shows her walking but concerned, the woodland can be seen clearly behind.

4. After hearing that her mother is sick and she needs to be home quick she jumps over a fence, the camera focuses on a keep out sign, which she failed to notice.

5. A long shot from somewhere in vegetation shows that someone is watching her and when the conversation ends, you hear deep breathing from somewhere.

6. Sophie begins to look through her bag and pockets for a torch however she cannot find one, suspenseful music begins to kick in, she stops

when a twig snaps behind her and she quickly turns around.

7. The music gets more powerful, Medium sot shows her upper body as she leans forward again and we see her looking confused and slightly worried – there are little noises from the bushes.

8. Shot quickly switches to a long shot of her looking over the camera towards where the noise came from, during the jump cut from the previous shot, she quickly turns again but sees nothing, then the music ends abruptly.

MIDDLE

1. Medium shot of girl as she begins to walk more

quickly, we can see the path behind her. 2. Shot stays the same as she starts to run, the

music picks up again. 3. Music reaches it’s climax and suddenly we see an

unknown figure grab the girl, she screams. 4. The shot changes to an over-the-shoulder shot of

a young boy moving away from the girl (camera is behind the girl). The boy is laughing and he taunts her in a friendly way.

5. The shot changes to a close-up of her, she pushes him away playfully.

6. They talk briefly, close-up of the boys face. 7. Talking continues, close up of the girls face.

End

1. The two walk together. The shot is of them walking towards the camera, the boy is talking.

2. Close up of the girl smiling.

3. Close up of the boy asking the girl if he may ask her Theystop walking, close up of the girl as she gives him permission to ask her anything.

4. Close up of the boy speaking. 5. As he speaks, extreme close up of the girls facial

expression. 6. Medium shot of the boy speaking however mid

sentence he becomes motionless as we hear a slashing sound, silence is dominant as he falls lifeless to the cold ground, behind him is a savage man wearing a mask and wielding a large knife who was previously hidden by the boy.

7. Close up of the girl as she is horrified and is backing away.

8. Low angle shot of the killer in a dominant manner.

9. Long shot of the girl and the killer, she runs for her life, towards the camera, fast paced music begins and it sounds slightly disorientated.

10. She is running and we only see her from the side because of the camera shot.

11. Long shot shows her run into a wall that was hard to see in the darkness.

12. Medium shot as she presses against it for a second, realizing she must find a new way to run again.

13. Wide shot as she jumps the fence again, we can see the boy’s lifeless corpse in the distance however the killer is nowhere to be seen.

14. Camera shot is from the view of the car as the girl runs into the road, we hear instant brake screeching, screaming and a car horn but just before the car hits her, the screen goes black.

Costumes: The actress for Sophie will wear casual clothes as the day is supposed to be no different to any other day for her. The savage will wear torn dirty clothing and a mask to show that he hasn’t been acting civilized for a long time and to show his animalistic features. Inspired by Jason Voorhees one of the most inspirational Slasher killers in the horror genre.

Locations: We chose to film around and in the burn valley due to its amount of vegetation and general feel.
