Comparison with real media products

To compare our research with existing T.V Title sequences we had to do research on other sequences to see if it was the same. At first me and Ashleigh couldn't decide on what  project we where going to do mine or hers so i did research on 'Ghost whisperer' the T.V series and 'The Orphanage' the movie because mine was based on a ghost but then we decided to do her idea so i did research on 'Dexter' the t.v series and 'My bloody Valentine' the movie for our costume and props I drew and designed a dress in pink then annotated it for one of the characters to wear and also designed the fake blood and white roses for the props we needed in our filming.

For our location we had to fill in a location Recce Check list to make sure we had everything that we need to take when filming at our location and a location list which we had to look up the phone number and address of our location. Our locations we filmed in was 'Ben's woodland Walk', 'Christ Piece park in Cambridge', 'the long road kitchen' which we got permission for, 'The long road car park' and the 'Public library in Cambridge' which we also got permission for.

With our Characters me and Ashleigh asked another group in our class witch was Sammie and Dan, they where the two main characters in our opening sequence and we got them to sign a permission sheet to show that they don't mind us filming and what they are going to do while we are filming them. We got Sammie to be a dead girl and wear a pink dress with fake blood on it in the woods and then we got Dan to be the killer who wears a grey hoddie with a knife.

How did you find the construction process

I found the most enjoyable was the fake blood and the different filming because i like going out somewhere and doing something than just sitting in class and also i like that i could help in other peoples opening sequence because then we could share ideas and get to know them more. I found the most hardest was deciding which subject we where going to do because me and Ashleigh liked both of our ideas and didn't know which one to choose and also i found hardest was finding the location because if we could not get permission to film in that certain place we had to have a plan b to film in.

The problems that i had to face was trying to get the music right because there was an off beat and i had to try and find it to fix it also i had to make it merge into our video, so i had to research on my bloody Valentine music to get an idea of what i had to do to get the right music to flow with the video. Also the other thing we had to face is that we had to find back up characters if one of them was ill or they couldn't do it .

I think me and Ashleigh worked well as a team, we shared great ideas which we always took on board and if it didn't work out we would try something else, also we got to know each other better and knew each others strengths to use in this video, we also had each others phone numbers so we could call or text if something would go wrong or if i needed something. And we also made schedules of what we have done and what we need to do on what days . We sometimes didnt agree on somethings but we worked it out in the end.

Legal and ethical consideration

We made sure that we could use the music on garage band and so we could re mix it a little, when we where filming we didn't get any threats or violent parts with knives or toy guns in our clips and we also made sure got the characters to sign permission slips to show us that we can used them in our footage because they are under 18 and they might have problems with the things we want them to do when filming.

Skills development

Me and Ashleigh also went around college taking pictures of different fonts and putting them into a collage on photoshop i had to make a plan sheet on photoshop and drag all the pictures together and resize them so they can all fit so i had to press cmd T to do so.

When i was making the music on garage band i had to youtube convert a song then click on media browser on garageBand and double click on the song that i wanted and then i could cut bits out of it by hovering over the bottom left and right track and dragging right or left to get more music or cut it off. And then i added bits of music from the loops which made it more sci-fi and mysterious.

Quality of final product

I think the final product was based on the original idea we had, before we thought of this idea we thought we were going to do a vampire opening sequence because of the lesson we did on bite marks and fake blood but we completely changed our minds to something different. Me and Ashleigh forgot to put something sci-fy in it and so we had to think of how to do that and so we decided to make Dan the killer's eyes to turn black like he is poses of something and cant stop killing. But apart from that i think our project was pretty successful because of our teamwork and skills. I think this meets up to our target audience and is appropriate to watch.
