Some things to consider..
• War profiteering equates to dollar signs.• War, regardless of your political stance has to be funded
and supported.• War profiteering activities address real market needs.
Crisis situations still following general marketing principles, (example; hurricane damage repair)
Problem
• War profiteering has been a topic of discussion in Congress and task force has been launched to go after the few bad apples that have committed crimes such as fraud.
• Many people associate the term war profiteering with “mercenary”.
Give War Profiteering A Chance!
Companies and individuals who make their living from war, contribute positively to the US economy and they are good for the American people and the US military.

Definition
War Profiteer: Is any person or organization that makes profits (rightly or wrongly) from warfare….in their own countries or in foreign countries.
Caution: War profiteer is sometimes connected to the word mercenary.
War Profiteering Companies
GE-Aviation and Rolls Royce
• In 2005, GE/Rolls Royce were awarded a contract valued at $2.4 billion to develop it’s F136 engine for the F-35 strike fighter.
• In 2006, GE reached revenues of $13.2 billion dollars in aviation services both commercial and military.
A legitimate business model
• These companies are Fortune 500 companies• These companies employ workers with families
and provide benefits and pay.• These companies provide services to their
customers and address a real market need. (Ex: militaries of the US and foreign)
• These companies are publicly traded and their stocks are apart of people’s retirement accounts and their performance has an effect on the US economy as a whole.
Education is the Key to Understanding
• Information is available about war profiteering companies in their Annual Reports and other information publications.
• Congress has sessions and you can get copies of the hearings to understand the issues behind war profiteering.
Conclusion
War profiteering companies are sources of money and security for a lot of American families.
War profiteering companies stimulate the US economy with jobs, publicly traded stocks, and provide real services.
