Background
3. With the establishment of Toaster Box [International Eating
Club] in 1949, also came the creation of the Banana Nana
Foundation. It is a non-profit organization that benefits from all
of Toaster Boxs projects and helps children recuperate from
different diseases. Today, with over 1,500 charities worldwide, the
Banana Nana Foundation continues to benefit and will benefit from
this new project.
Our aim is to raise a minimum of Php 900,000 ( 13,250or $20,700)
and equally distribute the earned funds to the Banana Nana
Foundation as well as spread cultural consciousness amongst
participants.
Banana Nana is a humble organization that strives to defend the
right of the children to clean and healthful food. We give them all
the good stuffadobo, cheesecakebut we make sure its a balanced meal
always.
President of the Banana Nana
Sometimes, with the deliciousness and quality of the food we serve
at Banana Nana, it somewhat makes me wish I were homeless! Banana
Nana is a foundation Im proud to stand by. We help so many children
and families, and its a continually growing mission. We hope to
keep putting up charities around the world.

5. The World Market is an open food expo, wherein thousands
upon thousands of people from all over the world will come together
and celebrate their love of food.
Complimentary samples will be available for everyone from every
participating country , and will also be available for purchase.
There will be a raffle, as well as a cooking contest wherein
participants will be randomly chosen to recreate their favourite
dish in the fair. Seminars featuring world-renowned chefs will be
open to the public, too. Prizes will of course be given!
Food-themed games, rides and junior cooking classes for children
will be everywhere to entertain and spread an awareness to the
youth, as well as develop their palettes early on.
Im so excited to judge the World Market 2011 cook-off. Im hoping it
wont be as ridiculous as Hells Kitchen. Good luck!
I love kids. I cant wait to meet and teach the kids for World
Market! Its a very exciting experience.
Honestly, Im kind of scared to be teaching a cooking class with
Chef Ramsay. I hope he doesnt kill me again!

6. This year will surely be a bigger event for us as we
celebrate our 60th founding year. In line with this, our theme for
2011 islearning about our past, to truly live the present. So what
exactly is our theme all about?
Its about going back to our roots; past the alterations,
modifications, changes, adjustmentsback to when everything was
simple and bare. Instead of an elaborate gourmet meal of
who-knows-what, why not taste it the way the people who invented
actually did? This is what were bringing to this years World
Market. Nothing but the classic flavours and essences of everything
we love. Its time we remind ourselves of who we really are and
where we really come from.
