GLSD ORGANIZATIONGLSD ORGANIZATION• District Established by Chapter 750 of the
Massachusetts Acts of 1968• Board of Commissioners• Operational Since April 1977• Serves:
o Lawrence, Methuen, Andover, North Andover, Dracut, MA and Salem, NH
o Population of over 200,000 o As Septage disposal location for 40 communities
• Second largest WWTP in Massachusetts (52 MGD design flow )
• Co-digestion at the GLSD facility is feasible with proper revenue stream
• Could process ~28,000 gpd of SSO (source separated organic) material in existing digestion system
• Could process up to 92,000 gpd of SSO material if build a 4th digester
• Can meet up to 40% of the Commonwealth’s goal for SSO Diversion
